Art Hop November 2025: Mixed media artist Brídín Clements Cotton

Mixed media artist Brídín Clements Cotton pays attention to the leaves. In decomposition diaries, her new series of botanical prints, fall foliage and late blossoms are storytellers — whispering about love, loss, and the soft resilience of community. Some flirt with the wind; others thank the ground for catching them. Together, their voices form a chorus.

Cotton’s process begins with foraging walks through a Michigan autumn. Each found plant is pressed into ink and paper, creating both image and imprint — a collaboration between artist and landscape. Through these gentle gestures, decomposition diaries explore tenderness as a form of resistance, and attention as an act of care in uncertain times.
