Climate change and racism are symptoms of the same unequal systems. A new way forward is needed to make real the “just transition” (away from fossil fuels) called for in all three 2019 Climate Emergency Declarations (Kalamazoo Township, City of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County). As Michigan Climate Action Network says: We need to do more.
